Ministries

At Resurrection we have cultivated an attitude that this is God’s church, given as a resource for the many. So we think of ourselves as a base camp for mission.

How Our Mission Affects
Our Ministries

In eternal gratitude to God, we strive to live for and love others as He loves us. Our worship is not restricted to Sundays but includes practical, tangible, hands-on acts of charity and mercy. Here are some of the most important.

Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

Matthew 25:40

Our Ministries

Anglicans for Life

We are dedicated to the sanctity of human life at every stage of existence. AFL is a national network through which we act on our commitment. Locally we support expectant and new mothers and their babies by providing clothing, food, diapers, and other necessities to Foundations of Life Pregnancy Center.

DeArruda Weddings + Marriage

Statistics show that nearly half of all marriages are not successful. DW+M provides relationship guidance to engaged couples to ensure a satisfying marriage and family life. Individualized counsel is also available to those already married.

Hope for the Hungry

This ministry at Resurrection includes:
  1) Partnerships with Higher Ground Outreach Ministry and Feeding Tampa Bay to distribute food to those in need.
  2) Silver and Tin: On the 4th Sunday of each month we donate nonperishable food and loose change to assist the Holy Redeemer Food Pantry.
  3) Friday Feasting: A young adult hands-on outreach provides food and fellowship to the homeless of Tampa.

Ministries 1

Mothers’ Union

An organization founded in England but now spanning the globe in 84 countries, the Mothers’ Union builds resilience, challenges prejudice and advocates for change, largely related to mothers and families. Our local branch works with refugee families new to the Tampa area, spreading God’s love through Christian faith in action.

Refugees

We support families who have been resettled from regions in crisis. Though physically safe, they often live on the margins. Resurrection befriends this community with baby showers, back-to-school drives, Christmas parties and presents, and fresh food for displaced people seeking to build new lives in Tampa Bay.

Silver & Tin

On the fourth Sunday of every month we donate loose change (silver), canned goods (tin), and other nonperishable items to the Food Pantry operated by Church of the Most Holy Redeemer in Tampa. This program supports more than 300 families a week throughout Tampa Bay.

Ministries 2

Smart Phone Mission

People living in the third world receive the opportunity to hear the good news of God’s love on refurbished smartphones loaded with The Jesus Movie and other spiritual media. These are delivered to people in some of the most remote locations on Earth. Consider donating your unused tablets and smartphones to this creative way of sharing the Good News.

Stephen Ministries

Stephen was one of the first deacons who served the early church by offering pastoral care. We continue this practice by providing support to anyone who is struggling with life’s most painful and difficult challenges.

World Mission Fund
of the Anglican Union

Every day there is a humanitarian crisis somewhere in the world. Individual contributions help alleviate the suffering of people who are not featured in daily headlines.

Ministries 3

The generosity of our members and friends has resulted in more than $800,000 donated for crisis intervention to people in Rwanda, Tanzania, Mozambique, India, and Haiti.

Children’s Church

Resurrection provides a unique experience for elementary aged children during the Sunday mass. We use the Godly Play® method, a curriculum of spiritual practice that helps children explore the mystery of God’s presence in their lives. Godly Play teaches children to listen for God and to make authentic and creative responses to God’s call in their lives.
